Parent and Co-Parenting Coaching

Are you feeling anxious, frustrated, scared, or overwhelmed about your relationship with your child? Tired of the power struggles? Separating or divorcing and wanting to mitigate the impact on your kids? Are you experiencing problems that you can’t solve even though you’ve tried everything?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, we can help.

Unlike counseling, which addresses deeper systemic issues (like attachment trauma), parent coaching and co-parenting sessions focus on building skills that help adults feel calm, confident, and connected to the child within their family system – even in the face of conflict.

Our work with parents draws primarily from Attachment Theory and the Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS) Model. Stacey Curnow is a Certified CPS Provider and our other providers have completed Advanced CPS Training with Dr. Ross Greene (the creator of CPS). Our focus is always on building communication, empathy, and collaboration. Our approach is completely non-blaming, non-punitive, non-adversarial, non-exclusionary, trauma-informed, evidenced-based, insight-creating, and skill-building.

You’ll discover new “lenses” to see the child, solve seemingly intractable problems, and feel completely understood and supported in your journey. It’s a wonderful approach that works with children of all ages – we’ve had great success whether the children are as young as 3 or in their late teens.

You’ll learn tools and strategies to help you:

  • Communicate with calm, curiosity, and compassion
  • End the negative interactions cycle (nagging, yelling, and fighting)
  • Build a warm, loving relationship with the child that’s based on mutual respect and trust

Please note: CPS sessions are billed as private pay only because CPS is not considered counseling, and insurance covers only those sessions that are deemed “medical necessity.”

A further note about our practice: We take responsibility for learning about current systems of oppression and how they do harm. We take accountability for our missteps and micro-aggressions. We consistently work to create an environment that is welcoming and affirming of people from different races/ethnicities, sexualities, gender identities, class strata, abilities, and religious/spiritual orientations. We have taken special training and received supervision around these identities/systems and have the ability to consult with someone around identities we don’t personally hold.

All of our clients are seen, heard, and valued for exactly who they are.
